Mario Torres

Mario Torres is a Computer Engineer with the U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL) at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. Mr. Torres has worked with ARL for over 4 years in various software engineering projects. His current focus is distributed computing systems and the investigation of Java technologies of Jini/JavaSpaces for the networking of wired and wireless applications. Mr. Torres has been developing extensively with the Java language for the last four years. His latest Java software design is scheduled to be fielded to hundreds of Army systems and deliver valuable tactical decision aid information to commanders and soldiers in the battlefield. Mr. Torres participated as a session speaker for the JavaOne 2000 Conference on the subject of distributed computing applications. Mr. Torres regularly authors and co-authors papers at various conference proceedings. Most recently, his article titled, "Developing Scalable Distributed Applications", was published as the feature article in Dr. Dobbs Journal (Nov. 2001). Mr. Torres holds a BS/MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from New Mexico State University.
